Dibrugarh Hanumanbux Surajmal Kanoi College, established on June 15, 1945, is one of the oldest educational institutions in Upper Assam. Founded by the visionary philanthropist Rai Saheb Padma Shri Hanumanbux ji Kanoi, the college was established to empower local youth through quality education and quickly became a household name attracting students from across the region.
Originally named Dibrugarh College, it was renamed in 1957 after its generous donors. The college was inaugurated by Dr. Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, the then Vice-President of India. Granted autonomous status and accredited with NAAC A Grade with a CGPA of 3.03 in 2023, the institution continues to shape the intellectual landscape of Assam.
