Established in December 1953, Andhra Loyola College is a prestigious Jesuit institution located in Vijayawada, Andhra Pradesh. Founded by the Society of Jesus (Jesuits), an international religious order of Catholic priests and brothers, the college began its academic sessions in July 1954. The Jesuits, who run over 200 colleges worldwide, established this institution at the request of the Catholic bishops of Andhra Pradesh .
Affiliated to Krishna University, the college was re-accredited with NAAC 'A+' Grade (CGPA 3.65) in 2008 and later with a CGPA of 3.66. In 2004, it was recognized by UGC as a 'College with Potential for Excellence' (CPE). The college also holds the prestigious 'Star College' status from DBT.
