Jorhat Law College was established in 1964 by the Nalini Nath Phukan Memorial and Educational Trust, marking a significant milestone as the first law college in Upper Assam and the second in Northeast India. Located at M.G. Road in Jorhat, the college was initially affiliated to Gauhati University and later came under the jurisdiction of Dibrugarh University.

Recognized by the Bar Council of India, New Delhi, the college offers a comprehensive range of legal programmes including 3-year LL.B., 5-year integrated B.A. LL.B., B.Com.
