A premier self-financed teacher training institution in the heart of Karimganj Town, Barak Valley, established in 1995 with a mission to develop methodical teaching at the secondary level of education, recognized by NCTE and affiliated to Assam University, Silchar .
Vivekananda College of Education (VCE) was established on 1 July 1995 in the heart of Karimganj Town, Barak Valley, Southern Assam . The inaugural ceremony was presided over by the then Secretary Maharaj of Ramakrishna Mission, Karimganj . The college was founded with the vision of developing and popularizing methodical teaching at the secondary level of education under the guidance of NCTE and Assam University .
The college is recognized by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and affiliated to Assam University, Silchar . With an intake capacity of 50 students for the 2-year B.Ed course, the college has produced over 1,000 graduates since its inception, who have come not only from Karimganj district but from different parts of India, including the Andaman & Nicobar Islands . The college also introduced the 2-year D.El.Ed course under SCERT, Assam, from 2018 .
