Established in 1950, Dayanand College stands as one of North India's premier institutions of higher learning. Located in the historic city of Hisar, the college owes its existence to the vision and missionary zeal of Lala Gian Chand Mahajan (later venerated as Swami Munishwaranand), a teacher by profession and a social crusader by inclination. The college was taken over by the prestigious DAV College Managing Committee, New Delhi, in 1962. Governed by the DAV College Managing Committee and affiliated to Guru Jambheshwar University of Science & Technology, Hisar, the college is situated on two campuses occupying a total land area of about 28 acres.
