Founded in 1971 by the Hindu Education Society, Rohtak, under the blessings and leadership of Dr. Mangal Sen Ji, the college was established to provide value-based education to the growing number of students in the region. Originally known as Hindu College, the institution purchased 13 acres of land on Bhiwani Road, Rohtak, in 1974, where the foundation stone of the new building was laid by 1008 Swami Gurucharan Dass Ji Maharaj. Subsequently, the heirs of Shri Lal Nath Ji donated 250 acres of agricultural land to the society, leading to the college being renamed Sh. L. N. Hindu College.
Affiliated with Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, and accredited by NAAC with a 'B' (CGPA 2.74) grade, the college has carved a special place on the educational map of Haryana.
