Dravidian University, established in 1997 through an Act of the Legislative Assembly, is a state university located in Kuppam, Chittoor District, Andhra Pradesh. The university was the visionary initiative of the late Padma Shri Nandamuri Taraka Rama Rao Garu, former Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, legendary film artist, humanist, and visionary, who conceptualized a dedicated institution for the promotion of Dravidian languages, literature, and culture. His vision of involving the neighboring states of Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, and Puducherry in this noble cause reflects his deep commitment to national integration and cultural preservation.
